Today's Favorite Verse: Lamentations 2:6-7

Today's Favorite Verse: Lamentations 2:6-7
"And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the Lord hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the Lord, as in the day of a solemn feast."

The question that came to me was "Why would the Lord destroy his own house?" Then the quiet answer, "To protect it". The people were unworthy of it and this was what must be done. It reminded of what I saw during Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The Houston Texas temple became surrounded by flood waters. Then the baptistry flooded and several inches of water rose on the main floor. Leaving it significantly damaged. I never saw it as a devastation. I saw it as a protection. For if the temple had remained dry and inhabitable, people in the area would have demanded the doors to be opened as a public shelter. It would have been very difficult for the church to explain how that would not be possible. The matter was settled by the Lord, he flooded it instead.
