"Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.
Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many life words."
The Lord commanded Jeremiah to record all the words he had spoken to him. Jeremiah called Baruch to record the words of his month. Once done they are read. Jehoiakim, king of Judah doesn't like them so has them taken and burned. He would have taken Jeremiah and Baruch but the Lord hid them. Once the rolls are burned they are commanded to write them again, and this time the Lord gave them more.
Two things came to mind with this.
1. The Lord's work will not be frustrated.
2. Is there more? That is something I have been trying to remember to ask. I'm so quick to jump up and go with what I am told in prayer and don't stop to ask "Is there more?" For when I do there always is more. This story shows how the Lord had more and gave that too. I'm sure the more was not pleasing for the king of Judah to hear.
