Today's Favorite Verse: Psalms 50:3-6

Today's Favorite Verse: Psalms 50:3-6
"Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah."

On this Christmas Eve when we celebrate the Lord Jesus' birth, I reflected on how time wise I am closer to His Second Coming than his birth. How different that event will be compared to an innocent holy baby lying in a manger. Wise men still seek Him, and that gathering of saints includes me too.

Merry Christmas

Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Peter 3:16

Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Peter 3:16
"Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ."

This made me reflect on this Christmas season. I realized I've fallen into conformity. I call it the Holiday season. I hardly say the word Christmas now. Looking back I don't even know how that happened. Christ has been taken out of Christmas and even the name for the day is gone. You are hard pressed to find a school that would sing Christmas carols with references to Christ for fear of lawsuits. What was so pure and good is treated as if evil was spoken. That makes me sad. I am glad tomorrow is the Sabbath before Christmas and I will enjoy a sacrament meeting devoted to Him. I will sing Christmas carols and worship the "Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace". The Messiah, beloved Son of God, my Savior Jesus Christ.

Today's Favorite Verse: Jeremiah 48:47

Today's Favorite Verse: Jeremiah 48:47
"Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the Lord. Thus far is the judgment of Moab."

This verse's reference.

"And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness."
(Isaiah 16:5)

One day our Lord and King, Jesus Christ sit upon his throne and judge in righteousness. As I sit today thinking of Christ's birth, I also sit pondering his second coming.
