"Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The Lord hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the Lord.
So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month."
What happens to Hananiah reminds me of the antichrists in the Book of Mormon that also died. Jeremiah reminds the people that what Hananiah has said had been prophesied by other prophets before. Which is very easy for someone claiming to be a prophet to just say what has already been said, and add their own timeline to it. The problem with what Hananiah was saying was it stood in rebellion to the will of the Lord in this matter, and what the prophet Jeremiah had told them. Jeremiah does say "Amen: the Lord do so..." to what had been spoken, but it wasn't in agreement for what Hananiah had meant in this situation.
So what I take from this is don't be deceived by those pretending to be a prophet, claiming prophesy by using what others have already said. Don't listen to made up timeline of events. Just because someone is saying what I know scripture tells me, the person must be a prophet of God for the timing of it to come to pass. Another reason why we need a living prophet on the earth before the second coming of the Lord. I am grateful that I know that there is one. I know Russell M. Nelson, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a true prophet of God.
