Today's Favorite Verse: Psalms 26:2
"Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart."
Well that's interesting. I was wondering what "try my reins" meant. I was thinking of reins like for a horse. Instead it means the kidneys. "(especially in Biblical use) the seat of the feelings or affections, formerly identified with the kidneys."
What David appears to be asking the Lord to do is try his affection, feelings and heart. That would seem to be the most intimate part of who he is.
