Today's Favorite Verse: Doctrine & Covenants 9:3-4, 14

Today's Favorite Verse: Doctrine & Covenants 9:3-4, 14
"Be patient, my son, for it is wisdom in me, and it is not expedient that you should translate at this present time.
Behold, the work which you are called to do is to write for my servant Joseph.
Stand fast in the work wherewith I have called you, and a hair of your head shall not be lost, and you shall be lifted up at the last day. Amen."

Oliver Cowdery was acting as scribe for Joseph Smith as he translated the Book of Mormon. He desired to translate and the Lord let him, but he was unable to do so. Then he is told what his calling is. The thing that I noticed is the Lord looks at all callings as important. One is not great than another. For if done well, we are showing we are seeking to do His will, not ours. Eternal life is not limited to those of a particular calling or position. It is obtainable for all. For "God is no respecter of persons". (Act 10:34)
