Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Nephi 22:17

Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Nephi 22:17
"Wherefore, he will preserve the righteous by his power, even if it so be that the fulness of his wrath must come, and the righteous be preserved, even unto destruction of their enemies by fire. Wherefore, the righteous need not fear; for thus saith the prophet, they shall be saved, even if it so be as by fire."

This verse makes me think of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego that were saved in the firery furnace. I also think of Lehi and Nephi that were encircled by fire and were not burned. Then I think of Alma and Amulek in Ammonihah that were forced to watch the women and children that were converted cast into the fire and burned, and so was Abinadi. So when does the Lord save his people from death by fire and not? It is according to the testimony needed. For the righteous can be destroyed and it is a testimony against the wicked, or they can be preserved as a testimony of their faith in Christ. What I learn from all of them is it matters not what the outcome, for with God all things are possible even if I have to walk through the fire. I will not fear a nuclear holocaust because the Lord will preserve the righteous even if he takes them to him for their eternal rest, or protects them to stand as a witness of the Lord's power. Either way they are saved.
