Today's Favorite Verse: Genesis 11:4

Today's Favorite Verse: Genesis 11:4

"And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth."

I realized something for the first time about the tower of Babel and why it was against God's plan for them. It was because the people didn't want to be scattered across the whole earth, they wanted to remain together. They were working the wrong plan, and it was opposite of what God told them to do.

"And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth."
(Genesis 9:1)

The confounding of their language caused the people to separate and go into other lands and begin to replenish the earth.
