Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Samuel 19:2, 7

Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Samuel 19:2, 7
"And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.
Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.

David inconsolable grief rose to the point it was in danger of insulting those that have defending him against Absalom. Joab had to speak hard words to David to open his eyes. I pondered on mourning and how it can go out of control if not checked. I also pondered on the condition of David where maybe it was more than mourning for a son. Could he be inconsolable because he wasn't turning to the Lord. These events happened after his sin with Bathsheba and the murder of Uriah.
