Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Kings 8:8, 10-11

Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Kings 8:8, 10-11
"And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the LORD hath shewed me that he shall surely die.
And he settled his countenance steadfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept."

Ben-hadad the king of Syria sends Hazael to inquire of the man of God if he will recover. Hazael then goes to Elisha and asks. He is told that Ben-hadad will recover from the disease that he has, but he will still die by other means. Then you have these looks that tells volumes. Elisha looks steadfastly at Hazael until he becomes ashamed. What is Hazael ashamed of? Because Elisha knows the king will die at Hazael's hand. This is why Elisha weeps.

"The wicked cannot look unashamedly into the piercing eye of the righteous."
