Today's Favorite Verse: Doctrine & Covenants 120:1
"Verily, thus saith the Lord, the time is now come, that it shall be disposed of by a council, composed of the First Presidency of my Church, and of the bishop and his council, and by my high council; and by mine own voice unto them, saith the Lord. Even so. Amen."
The chapter header says this verse is about the "disposition of the properties tithed as named in the preceding revelation." As I read this single verse chapter I though of the chain of authority mentioned to handle this matter. It goes from the First Presidency to the bishop and high council. All of them are the voice of the Lord as they work within their stewardship and keys. It made me reflect on what we have seen this past year with the church handling COVID-19. The First Presidency had decisions made locally thorough the Area Presidency. There were those that would not listen to their Area Presidencies. They wanted to hear from the prophet himself on matters. The point is the church leadership was doing directly as the Lord counseled them to do.
