Today's Favorite Verse: Alma 49:18-19

Today's Favorite Verse: Alma 49:18-19
"Now behold, the Lamanites could not get into their forts of security by any other way save by the entrance, because of the highness of the bank which had been thrown up, and the depth of the ditch which had been dug round about, save it were by the entrance.
And thus were the Nephites prepared to destroy all such as should attempt to climb up to enter the fort by any other way, by casting over stones and arrows at them."

This is how Moroni had the people prepare their cities in order to defend them against the Lamanites. This same defense can be applied to our homes. We build a wall of defense as we pray and read scriptures together as a family. Having sacrament in our homes recently has added another wall of defense. The longer we participate in these activities the higher our walls of defense will be. The only way that evil can come in is if we let them in through the front door.

I did think about the hole that is called the internet and what comes in from radio and television. This is very similar to the Lamanites trying to come into the fort by other ways. It's interesting that they have to climb, so it's a progression that we should see trying to creep up on us if we are watchful. It reminds me of a recent conversation we had during family scripture reading. The discussion went into an observation that certain people in the media that we used to listen to seemed to be loosing their minds. The feeling was that we just needed to stop listening to them. In fact after that discussion I went into my Facebook groups and friends lists and reviewed who's feeds I was following and removed myself or changed the settings. This really was a protection to me because it did indeed restore my peace.
