Today's Favorite Verse: Esther 10:3

Today's Favorite Verse: Esther 10:3
"For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed."

I had to up the chronology of the Old Testament to see when Esther and king Ahasuerus lived. I found them in 486 BC. It wasn't until 444 BC that Nehemiah is appointed governor of Judea. That is when the return of the Jews and the temple in Jerusalem is rebuilt. I wonder if the story of Esther and with Mordecai being placed next to king Ahasuerus had anything to do with the favorable return of the Jews to Jerusalem. Seeing that the Old Testament books are not in chronological order I would have never know that the book of Nehemiah would have come after the book of Esther.
