Today's Favorite Verse: Alma 26:3

Today's Favorite Verse: Alma 26:3
"Behold, I answer for you; for our brethren, the Lamanites, were in darkness, yea, even in the darkest abyss, but behold, how many of them are brought to behold the marvelous light of God! And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work."

Ammon glories in the Lord and the marvelous miracle of the conversion of so many Lamanites. The Lamanites had a deeply rooted hatred of the Nephites due to the false traditions of the fathers. They were the cause of many wars and destruction among the Nephites. Once the sons of Mosiah were converted they desired to preach the gospel to the Lamanites. Some of the Nephites had said lets go to war with them and utterly destroy them from the face of the earth. But, the true answer was to convert them to the Lord. Ammon joy is full and he is praising the Lord for what has taken place.

I cannot help but see this is the light of a recent event that hurt my heart so badly. I have some Christian friends that were speaking so badly of one religion and were upset over food being provided for their holy days. How can you even do that? Let them practice their faith and if you believe in your God find a way to offer them more, even if its food as a start. You have to have a common ground to begin with. I am reminded of how Ammon approached teaching king Lamoni. He started with the great spirit that king Lamoni believed in and then said this was God.

I do wonder about this hatred of another faith. Would you not accept them as your brothers and sisters in Christ when these prophesies are being fulfilled among them?

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:"
(Acts 2:17) (Joel 2:28)
