Today's Favorite Verse: Ruth 1:16-17
"And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me."
It is so refreshing to read the story of Ruth after reading of the wickedness in Israel in the book of Judges. What I love in these verses is Ruth's testimony. She has been converted to the Israelite God. She gave up her former gods, life and family. She wishes to remain with Naomi, and be in a household of faith and serve the God of Israel. I love thinking that David will be one of her descendants, as well as Jesus Christ.
