Today's Favorite Verse: Judges 8:33-34

Today's Favorite Verse: Judges 8:33-34
"And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baal-berith their god.
And the children of Israel remembered not the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side:"

After the Midians were subdued before the children of Israel the country was in quietness forty years. Then Gideon dies and the children did not remember God anymore. Forty years is a good generation or more of people. It made me ponder on the importance of knowing our history, and the stories from the scriptures. It's a constant remembrance of what the Lord has done for us. When we turn from the Lord we replace Him with other gods.
