Today's Favorite Verse: Exodus 33:3, 20
"Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.
And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me and live."
As I pondered on this verse I came to see this as not necessarily a punishment to the people, but the Lord being merciful. He knew they were not ready to endure his presence. For Him to be in their midst it would consume them, because no unclean thing can be in his presence and endure.
