Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Corinthians 16:17-18

Today's favorite verse: 1 Corinthians 16:17-18
"I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.
For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.

Paul is on the move again. I see the changing of the guards so to speak. I sat and pondered on how in the Lord's church, he will shake things up and move people around. Why? So it will refresh our spirits. I thought about how good it is when we are released from one calling and then given another. Its the newest of it, that we can dive into and start again anew in the work. It is a chance for re-dedication. No one person can give everything to everyone they are called to serve. You can do your best, but areas will be lacking, even if you are an apostle. That is why a new person coming in, that changing of the guard, brings us the refreshment that we need. The one serving and the one being served are both blessed. Once again I see the blessings of change.

I could not help but reflect on the recent passing of Elder L. Tom Parry, a member of the twelve apostles. He was called back home. He had the ultimate refreshment from his earthly work. We will be refreshed with another apostle being called in his place. That doesn't mean we wanted Elder Parry to leave us, he had unique talents all his own. He was loved. The Lord has seen a need for change. He will give us another that will give us exactly what we need right now. The interesting thing is we don't know yet what that is. I love change.
