Today's Favorite Verse: Joshua 4:23-24

Today's Favorite Verse: Joshua 4:23-24
"For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever."

I pondered on how important the drying up of the waters of Jordan were for the everyone. It was a sign that God had chosen Joshua to lead them into the promised land. It made me ponder on the martyrdom of Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum. I thought of the event after their deaths when Brigham Young spoke to the saints and his appearance was transformed, making it appear to many as if Joseph were speaking to them. It was the confirmation that settled the matter on who was to direct the church. It's interesting that this event with Joshua leading them, also involved the parting of water, as was known with Moses. The mantle now fell upon him. Here's the video I was looking for yesterday. Thank you Amy Archibald for finding it for me.
