Today's Favorite Verse: Ezekiel 29:4
"But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales."
The Lord is having Ezekiel speak to Egypt. With the hooks in the jaw I could just picture the fight a fish takes to not be reeled in. It's hopeless, they will eventually become dinner. When the Lord says something will happen it will happen. If Egypt and those that stick to her are prophesied against it will happen. There is no changing course if that course has been determined. There are very few times in the scriptures that people have actually repented and changed the course that was to come. The story of Jonah and Nineveh are one such example, and there was a fish in that story too.
