Today's Favorite Verse: Deuteronomy 12:8

Today's Favorite Verse: Deuteronomy 12:8
"Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes."

This made me think of having sacrament at home. Before this pandemic when I was sick and unable to go to church my husband and son needed the permission of the Bishop in order to administer the sacrament in our home. When the pandemic hit the prophet gave every worthy priesthood holder the ability to bless and administer the sacrament in their home. This pandemic is not over, and when I broke my arm and saw the covid and breakthrough case numbers begin to increase, we returned to having sacrament at home once again. If the prophet had said we needed to have permission of our bishop to hold sacrament in our home we would have done so. The difference is not in what we see is right in our own eyes, it's what the direction is currently given by the prophet. There are times when we can have sacrament at home, and times when that is not proper just because we want to. When you start to do what is right in your own eyes you risk perverting ordinances and not obtaining the blessings from them.
