Today's Favorite Verse: Revelations 7:3, 15

Today's favorite verse: Revelations 7:3, 15
"Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them."

I'm seeing Revelations in a totally different way this time reading it. I wish I could describe what I mean. I would not see what I am seeing unless I had been going to the temple. I appreciate the prophet's greater emphasis on having us become a more active temple going people. It will prepare us for all that lies ahead. I can understand why Moroni quoted Malachi "And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers. If it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming." If we lose the sense of who we are and where we came from, that we are God's people the earth will be wasted. There is more to temple work then doing the work for our deceased ancestors. It is preparing us to be able to meet the Lord. We need his protection upon us.

I cannot help but wonder how those not of my faith think they can get through the days ahead without a prophet or apostles upon the earth. Would God leave them with just the Old and New Testament to figure out the hardest period of this earth existence? That would make me quite terrified. I am grateful to know that there is a living prophet once again upon the earth. Yes, all scriptures are needed, but the counsel of a living prophet is important for our days, just like in the days of old. We need a prophet now more than ever.
