Today's Favorite Verse: Revelations 20:2-3

Today's favorite verse: Revelations 20:2-3
"And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

This chapter had so many favorite verses. I learned so much and it was hard to decide. I decided to focus on this one to ponder over. I asked myself "Why would God after defeating Satan loose him for a little season?"

Then I thought of all those little children that have died before the age of accountability. All those aborted babies who's spirit still needed to come to this earth. They would know nothing of the temptations of the devil. They would be innocent like Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden. These children will be raised during the thousand years of millennial peace. They are the ones that need to be tried and tested.

Our strength and wisdom will help them as we do battle with Satan during this time frame. I can see how the stories and histories of those that lived during the time Satan was upon the earth will mean so much to these children. It is only through these stories that they will have a small understanding of what trials are. How important family history work is now and will be in the future.

In a way I can see that we need to be tested too. After the knowledge we receive during these thousand years of peace we must put it to test. This will prepare us to become like God. This final battle is a prelude to the final judgment to take place. There will be no doubt on which side we stand.
