Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Chronicles 1:1, 7
"And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee."
In this chapter it tells the story again of Solomon asking for wisdom and knowledge, instead of riches, wealth, honour, life of an enemy, or long life. And God said to Solomon, 'Because this was in thine heart", he would have wisdom, and knowledge, and riches, wealth and honour too.
What I noticed this time is how God knew Solomon's heart. He had been with Solomon and strengthened him, because he was worthy to have the spirit. The Lord then comes to him in a dream, where there are no false pretenses. Only the honest of heart could ask for something so humble. It just made me sit and ponder on the importance of spiritual preparation, and being worthy to have the spirit always to be with me.
