Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Chronicles 20:1
"And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it."
I believe this chapter matches what is happening in 2 Samuel 11. This was the time that all the kings go out to battle and David was not with them. He wasn't where he was suppose to be. Instead he stayed in Jerusalem. And what happened while he was there? He was restless and arose from his bed and walked upon the roof of his house. From there he saw Bathseba washing herself and beheld her beauty. If he had been where he was suppose to be he never would have seen Bathseba and that whole downfall that followed wouldn't have happened. There is a great lesson in this, there is protection in being where I am suppose to be, at the time I am to be there. Shirking my responsibilities does not bring me to a better place.
