"Then the angel of the Lord went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses."
I pondered on what an amazing event this would have been. Just waking up and finding 185,000 men dead that morning. I pondered on how something like this would be reported in the news today. I think they would be hard pressed to acknowledge an angel smote them. That is was God that fought their battle for them. It would be blamed on poison gas or something like that. Did those living in the time of Isaiah during this event do that too? For man does not seem to change in the ways they behave. You have to be able to acknowledge God's hand in the little things in life, before you would ever believe he had a hand in the big things.
