Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Corinthians 6:11
"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."
The verses before this Paul names some major gross sins and for them the abusers of the law would not inherit the kingdom of God. Yet, in this verse he tells them, "and such were some of you". That is powerful. No matter the sin we can become clean, just like them.
This reminded me of Elder Dale G. Renlund, Oct 2016 General Conference talk "Repentance: A Joyful Choice", where he is quoting President Boyd K. Packer.
"The Atonement leaves no tracks, no traces. What is fixed is fixed.... It just heals, and what is healed stays healed... The Atonement, which can reclaim each one of us, bears no scars. That means that no matter what we have done or where we have been or how something happened, if we truly repent, [the Savior] has promised that He would atone. And when He atoned, that settled that.... The Atonement...can wash clean every stain no matter how difficult or how long or how many times repeated."
(Boyd K. Packer, April 2015 General Conference)
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
(Isaiah 1:18)
