Today's Favorite Verse: Matthew 27:40-42

Today's Favorite Verse: Matthew 27:40-42
"And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
Likewise also the chief priest mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross and we will believe him."

So much in this chapter but it was actually these verses of Jesus being mocked that cut me to the core and grieved me. I was just talking with the family tonight during scripture reading that we never know how prophesy will be fulfilled, but it will be. The people that mocked Christ had no idea what would happen three days later. The temple he had referred to was the temple of his body. He had to stay on that cross so he could save not only himself, but everyone else that believed. He also did it even if they didn't believe.
