Today's Favorite Verse: Judges 8:33-34

Today's Favorite Verse: Judges 8:33-34
"And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baalberith their god.
And the children of Israel remembered not the Lord their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side:"

Israel desired Gideon to be their king. Gideon refused and said "the Lord shall rule over you".  Then for 40 years during the time of Gideon the country was in quietness. When he dies Israel goes back to whoring after other gods.

In 40 years they would have a generation that would have no living memory of what the Lord had done for them. I can tell already the cycle will begin of hard times for Israel. In a way it is for the sake of the rising generation that these lessons need to be learned. They must come to know for themselves to trust in the Lord. History does repeat itself because man does not always live in faith and trust in the Lord. I pondered on how one day this cycle will be done.
