Today's Favorite Verse: Joshua 11:15, 20, 23

Today's Favorite Verse: Joshua 11:15, 20, 23
"As the Lord commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.
For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them as the Lord commanded Moses.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all the Lord said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war."

What I pondered on was the difference between Moses and Joshua as prophets. In the bible dictionary it says under Joshua, "He is the highest type of the devout warrior."  They both had separate roles to play. Just like I see with prophets today.

Joshua continued the work the Lord had commanded of Moses. I pondered on how Moses was taken before these great battles would take place. That wasn't his mission, it was Joshua's. The Lord calls his prophets for a specific time and purpose. Though their roles may be different the commandments of the Lord did not change. One prophet of God will support another prophet of God. Things are just added upon.
