Today's Favorite Verse: Acts 1:23-24
"And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,"
I pondered on callings and the example this sets. First, the apostles studied the matter of who should be called as the apostle to fill the vacant seat in the quorum of twelve. Then they prayed to know the Lord's will in the matter. As a quorum they then agreed. I wonder if it was unanimous among them all? It doesn't say. It just says "they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles".
