Today's Favorite Verse: Psalms 141:4

Today's Favorite Verse: Psalms 141:4
"Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties."

The word dainties made me think of something delicate, small and delicious to eat. It made me think of Satan and how he tempted Eve making the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil desirable to eat, it all began with a lie.

"But of the fruit of the tree is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desire to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat."
(Genesis 3:3-6)

A lie can make anything appealing. The only way Satan can capture and place us into bondage is to lie about the end results of sin. He will make evil look good, and good look evil. His tactics have not changed.

"Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.
Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:"
(Provers 23:3,6)
