Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Samuel 12:14-15

Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Samuel 12:14-15
"If ye will fear the Lord, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the Lord your God:
But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers."

Samuel is telling Israel that even though they rejected the Lord their God that is their King, the Lord still set a king over them. He lays out the condition that their relationship with a king would work. If they still fear, serve, obey the Lord and keep his commandments. If they in turn rebel against God the Lord's hand would be against them. I pondered on how this is the relationship God has always had with his people. No matter who our leader or ruler is we are still to obey God's laws. I could not help but ponder on what has become of all the nations of the world. We all have rebelled against God. Is there any wonder of the daily terror I see before us? History repeats itself, because man always think they know more than God. We worship ourselves and not Him.
