"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."
This was fulfilled in the final week of Jesus life, as he rides in triumph into Jerusalem.
"And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon."
(Matthew 21:7)
It reminded me of something I realized which watching the bible video "The Risen Lord Appears to the Apostles". I had wondered while reading the scriptures how the apostles had recorded the sayings of Jesus, and how events were in fulfillment of prophesy. Some event are so obscure and would be easy to overlook in the scriptures. Then as I saw the resurrected Lord sitting and opening up the scriptures to his disciples and I understood. He told them. What must that have been like?
"Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures."
(Luke 24:45)
