"And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord."
Footnote: that waited upon me = OR who watched for me.
The verses after this prophesied how the death price would be thirty pieces of silver, and a potter's field would be purchased from it. This was fulfilled when Jesus' apostle Judas betrayed him. But, what I pondered on was how Christ's disciples knew Him. The poor of the flock, the humble and meek watched and waited for Him. They knew Him when he came. It will be the same when He comes again. We will understand as prophesy is fulfilled.
