Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
"And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."
Another set of genealogies are listed. At least it has some added mention here and there that denotes families. I loved this mention of Jabez. I did wonder what kind of mention I would get in the recording of my family. Would it say "Renee, she loved to read and ponder the scriptures in her heart." I have no idea, but I would want some acknowledgement that I loved the Lord. I pondered on what Jabez asked "that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!" I would want that too. I think I would like to sit and talk with this man and find out more about his story.
