Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Chronicles 13:9

Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Chronicles 13:9
"Have ye not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the  Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young  bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods."

As I recently listened to someone that has taken the pure doctrine of Christ and mingled it with the philosophies of man, I could see that Israel had this same problem among themselves too. Sometimes it would be so much easier if a person would identify themselves and their intents, if they did physically cast the priest out. Then you would know where their loyalties stand. It's when they have cast him out of their heart that its the hardest of things to see. People can walk as if in light but be totally dark within.

The only problem is when people have turned to other gods they feel they know a secret that others don't know. Then they seek to share the perversion. How enticing that sounds to the natural man.

"Yea, wo be unto you because of that great abomination which has come among you; and ye have united yourselves unto it, yea, to that secret band which was established by Gadianton!"
(Helaman 7:25)

This reminds me again of Elder Ballard's warning in the Oct 2017 LDS General Conference talk "The Trek Continues"

"Be ware of organizations, groups, or individuals claiming secret answers to doctrinal questions that they say today's apostles and prophets do not have or understand.

In some places, too many of our people are looking beyond the mark and seeking secret knowledge in expensive and questionable practices to provide healing and support"
