Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Chronicles 10:15
"So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the Lord might perform his word, which he spake by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat."
Rehoboam is make king. Jeroboam comes and requests that the burdens place on the people be made light. Rehoboam first counsels with the old men that were with his father Solomon. Their counsel to be kind and please them was sound advice. Yet Rehoboam turns and seeks the counsel of his peers. He is told to make it harder on the people. That is exactly what he does. The outcome is the kingdom splits and Israel and Judah are divided. I pondered on how prophesy is a hard thing. If you don't obey the Lord then what is prophesied will come to pass.
