Today's Favorite Verse: Mosiah 5:2

Today's Favorite Verse: Mosiah 5:2
"And they all cried with one voice, saying: Yea, we believe all the words which thou hast spoken unto us; and also, we know of their surety and truth, because of the Spirit of the Lord Omnipotent, which has wrought a mighty change in us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually."

So many good verses in this chapter. It was again hard to chose. But, this verse speaks to today. This morning I read the Daily News headline about the California Mass Shooting that happened yesterday. It said: "God isn't fixing this". It then went on to mock those that sent prayers for the victims of this shooting.

My stomach turned over that headline. How can man be so blind. It's not God at fault its us! God can't fix anything if we don't turn our hearts to him. He will not take away our free agency. Even murders have free agency. It is only when our hearts turn to God does the disposition to do evil leave us. It is the moral decay of people and nations that is making the wicked turn upon the wicked, and catching the innocent in the fray. My heart mourns for what I am seeing happening. Peace is being taken from the hearts of those that do not serve the true and living God. We must have the armor of God around us as we move about in this wicked world. That is our only protection, even if we die. I never thought I would see these days, yet they are here, and yet it seems so unreal.

I just tell myself hold strong, hold tight to the iron rod, the word of God and you will see it through the days ahead. God can and will fix this in the end. Until then he will send peace to those that love him, in the mist of so many afflictions. What an amazing place this world would be if we did turn our hearts to God and let him fix this.
