"And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord God; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon."
As I read this chapter knowing it fulfills last day prophesy when the Lord comes to his temple and reigns upon the earth. I wondered why would we be doing blood sacrifices? The blood sacrifices of the Mosaic law were fulfilled and done away after Christ's sacrifice as the true lamb of God. What would be the purpose and need for a lamb sacrifice with the Lamb sitting there upon His throne? I think this verse explains it "These are the ordinances of the alter in the day when they shall make it." This was given in the time of the Mosaic law. This is what the people practiced and knew. When Christ comes again we will all see him as the Lamb. Then things will be revealed a new.
