And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the things:"
What amazes me is Belshazzar was familiar with Daniel yet he did not seek for him when he wanted to know what the finger's of a man's hand had written on the wall. Instead he looks to his wise men and astrologers. It must be that when you're so far removed from God you don't look to Him. It's not even in your thought process. Just like those that Isaiah said looked to each other and their faces were as flames. Turning to God should not be an after thought. The problem is for these rulers, what the prophet reveals to them means the end of their kingdom.
