Today's Favorite Verse - Acts 13:44-45

Today's favorite verse: Acts 13:44-45
"And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming."

This chapter covers the preaching of the gospel by Saul, now called Paul and Barnabus. They arrive at Antioch in Pisidia and preach that sabbath day in a synagogue. Then the gentiles ask them to preach to them the next sabbath, which they did. This verse shows us almost the whole city came to hear them. You can see how hungry they are to hear the gospel.

Today I sat and pondered on the Jews. You know its not the group of people themselves that's the issue here. It's the philosophies, that I'm the chosen one, I'm right your wrong and let me destroy you that is the issue. It is when people become anti-Christ. I almost hate to type the word Jews when quoting the scriptures because it would be horrible if people just said how its that group that did wrong. Its the mind set that was wrong, and it was that people at that time with that mindset. They would only accept the Messiah with the image they had, not as he truly was.

Then I sat and pondered on people today with that mindset. People out to destroy anything good. People wanting to kick their brother to the curb. People even waiting for the arrival of a person called anti-Christ, signaling the Last Days and Christ return. It's not a person its a philosophical movement, destroy anything that brings you to Christ, that is truly anti-Christ. The mindset of people is becoming more and more anti-Christ every day. I think that's how Christ return can come as a thief in the night. People have a mindset of what they think will happen when its happening while they are unaware. We are like the frog in the pot of water. Slowly being cooked to death while waiting for things to get hot. By the time a man shows up you may call an anti-Christ you've already accepted his philosophies.

That sounds all so negative, but there is a solution. Read the scriptures and come to Christ.
