Today's Favorite Verse: Nahum 1:6-7

Today's Favorite Verse: Nahum 1:6-7
"Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."

Who can stand? Those that put their trust in the Lord. He knows you and will watch over you when all his indignation and anger is poured out. That is the great and dreadful day of the Lord. The time to practice and prepare for it is now. It's in those personal moments of trouble that we learn who is our strength and with us. This is the greatest part of the doctrine of Christ, to endure to the end. It is where we come to know the Savior. If our trials are not bringing us closer to Him, then we are hanging on our own cross suffering. He already did that for us. He lives, he loves us, he will be there to strengthen us, as we turn to him.

"And we know that all men must repent and believe on the name of Jesus Christ, and worship the Father in his name, and endure in faith on his name to the end, or they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God."
(Doctrine and Covenants 20:29)

"And whoso taketh upon him my name, and endureth to the end, the same shall be saved at the last day."
(3 Nephi 27:6)

"And now, behold, whosoever is of my church, and endureth of my church to the end, him will I establish upon my rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against them."
(Doctrine and Covenants 10:69)

"Be patient in afflictions, for thou shalt have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days."
(Doctrine and Covenants 24:8)
