Today's Favorite Verse: Matthew 22:19-21
"Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s."
I think of these verses every time I hear people mention great fear over our money system collapsing, being replaced, currency changing. What does that even matter in the scheme of eternal things? There is nothing holy about the American dollar. Stamping it with "In God We Trust" doesn't make it spiritual either. It's simply a way to buy and sell. As long as the exchange is fair I don't care what you call our money, or make it look like. It always amazes me what great store people put in material things.
"We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law."
