Today's Favorite Verse: Mark 5:36

Today's Favorite Verse: Mark 5:36
"As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe."

Believe = exercise faith

Jairus' is told by the ruler of the synagogue that his daughter is dead, there is no need to trouble the Master any further. These are the words Jesus spake "Be not afraid, only believe", or exercise faith. This reminded me of something I read in a comment on an article today about fear.

"We had stake conference over the weekend and our visiting authority was Gary B Sabin of the Seventy who just spoke in Oct 2023 General Conference (The Hallmarks of Happiness) and before our stake conference He asked us to study Pres. Nelson’s “Overcome the World and Find Rest”, as well as David A. Bednar’s “Put On Thy Strength, O Zion” about the Royal Marriage Feast — both talks from Oct 2022 ....in the Stake Conference Elder Sabin said a few things I found very meaningful.… such as: “President Nelson and the brethren are so excited!”, “We are preparing people for the return of the Savior!”- 355 temples with more to come!” And “The brethren do not fear. They have concern for us, but never fear.”
"He also illustrated a very important point about mortality. He put a small black dot in the center of a large white board then went back to the microphone and explained the dot represents mortality and all the white board all around the dot represents eternity (which was very great in comparison to the dot) ... He said, “Don’t let the “Dot” blind you!” “Think Celestial!” Worth pondering in light of the talks he had us study in preparation for stake conference and in light of our Prophet’s admonition to "Think Celestial" - we cannot be so attached to anything in or happening in this world as he said, “It is temporary- important, yes! But temporary.”

If prophets see around corners, and are so excited, then I am excited too. President Nelson counsel this general conference to "Think Celestial" was so inspired. It is the only way to see past what looks so dark in the world right now.
