Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Samuel 24:15-16
"So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer-sheba seventy thousand men.
And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite."
The Lord does not need to repent, and whenever I see that phrase in the bible I know there is a Joseph Smith translation of it. I was not disappointed. It was the people that repented.
"And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD said unto him, Stay now thine hand; it is enough;, for the people repented. And the LORD stayed the hand of the angel, that he destroyed not the people. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingfloor of Araunah, the Jebusite."
