Today's Favorite Verse: Luke 23:35, 37, 39, 46
"And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."
I looked at the contrast between God's will and our will. The people mocked, ridiculed and tempted Jesus to prove he was the Christ by saving himself. Because he would not act according to their will they did not believe him. He wasn't there to do the will of the people. Christ was there to redeem and save them. He acted according to God's will for him. It made me ponder on how we still do that same thing, when we pray according to our will and not God's will. Do we doubt and not believe when we don't get our own way?
