Today's Favorite Verse: Doctrine & Covenants 102:2, 30-31
"The high council was appointed by revelation for the purpose of settling important difficulties which might arise in the church, which could not be settled by the church or the bishop's council to the satisfaction of the parties."
There is a distinction between the high council or traveling high priests abroad, and the traveling high council composed of the twelve apostles, in their decisions.
From the decision of the former there can be an appeal; but from the decision of the latter there cannot."
This chapter discusses how difficult matters are settled in the church. It is comforting to me to know there is order and even appeals when needed. It also made me reflect on the General Handbook and how we were going over it as a family. Somehow over the holiday it was dropped from our family scripture reading time. I need to finish this. It is good to understand how things operate.
