"Now we see that Ammon could not be slain, for the Lord had said unto Mosiah, his father: I will spare him, and it shall be unto him according to thy faith - therefore, Mosiah trusted him unto the Lord."
I pondered on how the Lord's promise to Mosiah, that his son would be spared, was vital in the conversion of the Lamanites. The promise was the will of the Lord. I love how it says "Mosiah trusted him unto the Lord." I would take that to mean that he turned over any worry or concern for the welfare of his sons into the Lord's safe keeping. He trusted that they were in good hands. This is how Mosiah was to show his faith. Then peace would come to a father's heart in knowing that no matter what happened the life of his son would be spared.
