Today's Favorite Verse: Alma 12:4-5
"And thou seest that we know that thy plan, as to the subtlety of the devil, for to lie and to deceive this people that thou mightest set them against us, to revile us and to cast us out.
Now this was a plan of thine adversary, and he hath exercised his power in thee. Now I would that ye should remember that what I say unto thee I say unto all."
Alma gives the reminder that this warning applies to all. We are to do as Nephi said: "I did liken all scriptures unto us, that it might be for our profit and learning." (1 Nephi 19:23)
I do believe I am seeing the subtlety of the devil, deceiving people to believe lies, all so that we will fight against each other. What is so impressive about this story of Alma and Zeezrom is that Zeezrom actually listened, and changed his heart. Oh, if only our society would let people sit and reasonably discussion all sides of a story, then truth would prevail. Society now feel its more important to win at any cost, no matter who or what gets in their way. What hard, hard lessons are ahead of us. The only joy is knowing there is a way out, and a way to not be deceived. It is by being worthy of personal revelation. Again I point back to this quote of President Russell M. Nelson
"Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory. But in coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost."
